My paintings are a personal record of places that inspire me. My works are expressive landscapes that challenge the viewer to stop, enjoy and wonder.
I use color and contrast to evoke a feeling from the viewer: the misty stillness of a long-ago battlefield, the beauty of a sunrise or sunset, the mystical serenity of the deep woods or winding highway.
My current work is inspired by the artists of the Rookwood Pottery Company who pioneered the “Vellum” glaze technique introduced in 1904 during the Arts and Crafts Movement. My style is named “Dreamscape.”
