Jo Hodos was born in Youngstown, Ohio. Excitement came to her at the age of 10 when she was first introduced to the medium of oils. Since then, a variety of scenes have occupied her canvases. Jo believes exposing nature as is to be a gifted talent. She works with a palette knife to achieve the impressionistic, impasto compositions she wants in her paintings. Rather than focusing on photo-realism with her paintings, she applies paint in short strokes of color to create the feeling of movement and of changes of light.
